Miss Mamangi Festival Queen 2013 Crowned

Marivie Cabacungan, an eighteen year old Midwifery Graduate of Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus was crowned Miss Mamangi Festival Queen 2013 (Miss Ilagan City) during the glittering coronation night held last Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the City of Ilagan Community Center, Ilagan City, Isabela.

The Pageant was one of the highlight of the week-long Mamangi Festival 2013 Celebration, organized yearly by the local government of Ilagan, Isabela led by its dynamic and charismatic Mayor, Hon. Jed Diaz, (MD) to promote the newly established City as a prime eco-tourism, agro-industrial and investment destination in Northern Luzon. 

 

The tall and dusky Marivie got the lion share of special awards that includes Miss Photogenic, Miss Body Beautiful, Best in Swimsuit and Miss Smart One. She was the unanimous choice of the panel of judges that includes FDPA Officer, Mr. Julius Ornum, Entrepreneur and Pageant Mentor, Mr. Carlos Valera, Miss Tourism World Philippines 2013 Finalist, Ana Loiuse Langitan, Miss Aliwan and Bb. Pilipinas 2011 Runner-up, MJ Lastimosa,the newly-crowned Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Mutya Johanna Datul and PBA Superstar Mr. Arwind Santos of Petron Blaze.

Marivie got a rousing applause from the audience during the final question and answer portion of the pageant, when she was asked on how will she use the title to be of service to her fellow Ilaguenos, she replied that “as a beauty queen, we are put in a special situation that we become role model and inspiration especially to my fellow youth, I will use my title to spread awareness and educate them on the serious issues that confronts us, that is substance abuse and teen pregnancy, so that the youth may divert their attention to a more productive means.”

“Hindi ko po talaga ito inaasahan, dahil lahat po ay deserving manalo, inaalay ko ang tagumpay na ito sa Diyos, sa pamilya ko at mg kaibigan, at sana matupad din ang panagarap ko na manalo ng major beauty title katulad ng idol at kababayan nating si Mutya Datul!” Marivie says during a brief interview immediately after she was crowned

 

Other winners of the pageant are Miss Charmagne  Ayra Cureg, Second Runner-up and Shaira Bersabe, First Runner-up, Hyra Gem Ambatali, Miss Mamangi – Agriculture and Claudine Mangulab – Miss Mamangi Tourism. Marivie and her court of honor will serve as the Ambassador of Goodwill of the City of Ilagan and will represent Ilagan in various regional as well as national beauty pageants.

One of the most applauded segment of the coronation night was the formal recognition and tribute given to Ilagan City’s pride, Ms. Joy Marie Gangan who won the Best Model of the World Philippines 2012 crown and Best Asian Model title when she competed in Ankara Turkey last December.
