Jeffrey Yamanouchi for Mister International Philippines 2013 – Up Close and Personal!
Mister International Philippines is fast approaching and everyone wants to know the candidates and get closer to them. As an event blogger and photographer, I had a chance to meet most of the candidates and I would like to share my encounter with them so you can know them better.
Events2images gets up close and personal with Mister International hopefuls! Our first on the list is Jeffrey F. Yamanouchi representing the Filipino Community of Japan. Filipino community of Japan is the third-largest foreign community in Japan. There are over two hundred thousand Filipinos in Japan right now and most of them are working in almost types of industries in Japan. And this year, Filipino Community of Japan will be represented by a true Japanese gentleman with very Pinoy heart.
I first met Jeff in a Fashion Gala Night in Quezon City together with her sister – Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012 finalist, Reyna Yamanouchi. I was very impressed how he communicates with courtesy to everyone by giving a bow. When I spoke to him, I learned that he cannot speak well in Tagalog and also speaks “barok” English since he is born and raised in Japan. Despite of language barrier he is still a favorite to everyone because of his bubbly personality, he tries to speak to everyone even it’s hard for him and sometimes people laugh at him because of not being a master of our languages and he sings Tagalog songs even he doesn’t know the lyrics. He said he really wants to get immersed in Filipino culture.
He is now over a year in the country trying to get in touch with their relatives from his mother side, he spent his entire life in Japan but he has an idea of the Philippines based on the stories he heard from his Mom. After High School he decided to have a short vacation in the country together with his mother and sister. His sister won in Miss Philippines Japan contest and had a chance to represent the Filipino community of Japan in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012. Since he is very close with Reyna – his sister, he decided to come in the Philippines for a vacation. A month of vacation became 6 months and over a year, he said he fell in love with the Philippines. The people are nice and there is close family ties. Although he is a true Japanese boy, he is also very proud with his Filipino background. He said he is enjoying both worlds. While his eldest brother chose to become a Japanese citizen, Jeff made effort to work on his papers in granting him a Filipino citizenship. He made appeal to Philippine government that he want to become a Filipino citizen without giving up his Japanese rights. Let us know more about Jeffrey Yamanouchi with EVENTS2IMAGES’ exclusive interview UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!
