PEP’s Trade Launch for Mister International Philippines 2013 – MALE PAGEANTRY WITH SUSTAINABILITY !
PEP’s Philippines Foundation Inc. is very optimistic in staging the largest Mister International Philippines pageant to bring the very first Mister International in the country. As Early as now they are carefully planning about the sustainability of male pageantry of the country especially the Mister International Philippines.
Trade Launch was initiated to pave way to the sponsors, advertisers and partners of Mister International Philippines 2013. Two sessions were held yesterday at PEP’s Main office at San Juan City – The headquarters of Mister International Philippines and Manhunt Philippines to accommodate the sponsors and advertisers. Big names in Pharmaceutical, Wellness, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Fashion, Beauty Products pledged to support the PEP’s nationwide Search.
This is one of the two pageants that will be staged by PEP’s this year. Present were Board Members of PEP’s Carlo Morris Galang, Ice Lumibao, Mervin Galang with marketing head Artie Cajefe. Artie was the man behind the famous SM jingle and the brain behind the Globe’s campaign “Are you One of Us?” and many other big projects with major companies in the country. He said Trade Launch and sponsorship is the foundation of the event. Hindi pwedeng puro nood lang or picture taking lang. We need a sustainable friendly production if we want to see the Philippines excel in Male Pageantry permanently.
With Events2images firsthand experience on coverage of Pageants in the Philippines and abroad, Aski – one of our correspondents, pageant historians and pageant photographers was invited to become a resource speaker of the History of Philippine Male Pageants and the Current Standing of the Philippines in the Pageant World to the advertisers and PEP’s partners. Attendees were overwhelmed about the country’s male pageant and its colorful history. Most of them were not aware that Mister Philippines has colorful history since 1926. It was part of Manila Carnival Expositions – the Greatest Event of the Orient! They were also very happy about the current standings of the Philippines Male pageantry today since they realized that our men did better last year, making Philippines as the Country of the Year in Male Pageant.
And despite of our Men’s effort in bringing pride and honor to the country, they are not recognized as compared to our queens. After giving them the past, the present and the future of Philippine Male Pageantry, they were very optimistic in supporting the Male Pageant since this is actually part of our heritage. It’s older than Binibining Pilipinas, yet they were neglected. But with yesterday’s event, most of these executives and decision makers of these big companies appreciated the role of our men in bringing pride and honor to the country when they gave a thunderous applause after presenting Male Pageant’s role in our society.
Aside from knowing the history of the pageant, center of the discussions was the “MALE PAGEANTRY WITH SUSTAINABILITY’ headed by PEP’s marketing head, Artie Cajefe. The pageant is not about watching men in skimpy swimwear or taking pictures with them, we need to make money out of it and make it sustainable. If we won’t take male pageant seriously now and have these executives pledge their support, time will come that we will not sustain our EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE IN MALE PAGEANT and won’t enjoy the appreciation from international pageant enthusiast. For now, we are the country of the year, but how about for the coming years? Can we sustain the momentum?
There is no secret in all businesses, it’s just a matter of cash in and cash out. And the foundation is the FUNDING. At the end, we were able to close a deal with swimwear designers, international fashion photographer, media outfit, venues for go see’s in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, venue for national pageant, designers of stage and decorations, Hotel accommodations for reigning Mister international Ali Hammoud, catering services, out of town project in Baguio City for the candidates, Cash pledges, countless of products and services for wellness and beauty.
PEP’s said this is only an initial trade launch, series of project presentations and trade launch will be held in offices of executives of Philippine top companies.
They also mentioned that press were not yet invited to cover the event as requested by the executives since they cannot disclose price offer and sponsorship packages and broadcast it to everyone. Events2images was just lucky enough to get some exclusive photos thru the invite as a resource speaker.
With the success of yesterday’s event, hopefully we can see our male pageants at par with international national contests!
