Mr. & Ms. Olive C 2013 Events2images Exclusive Coverage!
For the past two years Mr. and Ms. Olive C has produced winners that can penetrate in local fashion, showbiz and TV industries such as teen star Hiro Magalona, Miss Philippines Earth Water Muriel Orais from batch 2011, Miss Bikini Philippines 2012 grand winner Abygale Monderin, Miss Teen Face Philippines 2012 – Lecelle Trinidad, Mutya ng Pilipinas finalist – Mutya Datul and of course outgoing titleholders Rohama Rearte and Aljohn Lucas that is being introduced in ABS CBN new soap opera, Kahit Konting Pagtingin.
This is my second time to watch the glittering finals night of Olive C on its 3 years of existence. Last year was just like yesterday. Almost 50 delegates competed for the title and 2 grand winners were declared. Same life changing moment happened last night and I was lucky to be there in behalf of events2images with all access both front seat and backstage.. Just to give you the extensive coverage of the pageant. And here’s our complete coverage of this UNFORGETABLE EVENT turned into GREAT IMAGES!
Events2images brings the images taken from the backstage of Mr. and Ms. Olive C 2013
Showbiz writer extra ordinaire Ruel Canlas said I should go to venue early for an extensive coverage of the pageant from start to finish. I arrived at AFP theater in Camp Aguinaldo at around 6PM, he said I can proceed to backstage to capture the images that the audience can’t see.
Events2images.. Letting the pictures speak!
Una kong napansin ang Olive C batch 2012 delegates, since usapan na namin na I will take pictures of them sa event, since I have no choice L.. I took pictures of Jonathan Vitug and Jomar Reglos. Wacky shot agad ang magandang kuha! Cute! After some chitchat with them, I started to take pictures of candidates while they are preparing for the opening number.
Buenamano! 2012 OLive C alumni Jomar and Jonathan pose agad agad.. (nauna pa sa mga 2013 candidates 😉
Nagkita kita ang Batch 2012 candidates… 😉 Whew.. parang kailan lang..
L-R Karl Butaslac, Jhay Torres, Go Cabanlit, Kristine Lalata, Brazille Mae Pango, Rohama Rearte and the photographer 😉
Boys are really enjoying the event, they are laughing and asking me to take their best shot while making fun. While relax ang mga boys, girls seem busy and tense. You can feel their eagerness to win. The competition is on the air, especially when the production staff gave them some instructions about the opening number. Lalo na nang malaman nila na merong up close and personal sa backstage with the judges before the opening number.
The competition is on the air.. Girls holding their sarong while listening to the last minute instructions..
Para maging relax ang mga girls, I asked them to have a wacky shot! And BINGO!.. All of them are smiling now..
Here.. isa pa lang ang ngumingiti.. lahat busy pa..
And these girls started to have some fun!
ALL TOGETHER NOW!. Lahat sila relax na.. parang walang competition..
After ng girls, I took some group pictures of the boys with their captivating smile. No effort na to make them smile since they are enjoying the event. Parang laro lang sa kanila ang competition. “Boys are boys no matter what!” sabi nga ni Guadalupe Sanchez – Binibining Pilipinas 1974 sa kanyang interview sa Miss Universe contest.
Boys had some fun too! (always 😉
Eto na.. nagwala na… kanya kanya ng eksena.. 😉
Dumagdag pa si Rohama! (Kenneth took this photo)
Be strong Joshua! May nakasilip sa gitna haha!
Supposedly, kukunan ko ng solo si Rohama, sumali si Vincent, sabi ko kay Monir and Christian sumama na rin sila, sumama si Kenneth, ang ending si Zyrille ang naging photographer!
While taking pictures of the boys, I saw Manhunt International June Macasaet and Miss Earth Air Stephany Stefanowits with Mr. Jim Acosta. I took a short break and had some chitchat with June about his activities. The next thing I heard, the production staff asked the delegates to fall in line and introduce themselves to the judges. I rushed to the area where the “quick up close and personal” was being held. Each candidate introduced themselves and I saw some judges taking some notes and writing some numbers. Good thing na may upclose and personal encounter sa mga candidates ang mga judges simce malayo ang upuan nila during the competition. At least they can see the blemish free candidates 😉 , In fairness sa lahat ng candidates, lahat makinis.. maybe it’s just a matter of scrutinizing the candidates up close and personal.
Star studded jurors.. Stephany Stefanowits, ( i dunno him .. sorry ) actor Teejay Marquez, Manhunt June Macasaet.
June Mac with Jim Acosta.
Si Kua June, nakuha pang mag papogi!
The judges.. starting their job at the backstage!
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL! And here are the girls.. on their first test!
While the judges and candidates were busy, I saw Carlo Morris Galang – Manhunt Philippines 2012 which is the host of the event. He did an excellent job in hosting and I like the way he worked with Jean Harn – Miss Philippines Earth 2007, his partner that night. I took some souvenir shots of Carlo with the delegates.. and here they are..
Girl power! Carlo with the girls..
and with the boys..
After ng Up close and personal with the judges.. the candidates headed to the side of the stage for the opening number.. And the fun shot continue even the opening number was about to start..
Last minute fun shots Nakuha pang magpose minutes before the opening number..
All together now.. batch 2012 and batch 2013 together..
Spot the difference? Peache Hosam 😉
This was the last fun shot before the opening number..
Let the competition begin! It’s showtime…!
THE HEELS ARE ALIVE! Girls are all prepared for the battle.
Star Studded Coverage.. Noli Berioso of OPMB, Jay Patao of Malaya, Francis Calubaquib of Philippine Star and Jory Rivera of OPMB.. all prepared and waiting for the show..
The opening number was lively.. all candidates looks good with their costume in live view.. not sure if they look the same on screen. I liked the music and the presentation, i just don’t agree with the candidates walking on stage by pair. Aside from its very confusing for the photographers who are taking individual pictures of all candidates on two different areas at the same time, i think it would be a tough job for the jurors to judge the candidates if they are walking on the stage at the same time. Although there were to microphone.. i still don’t like the fact that my eyes are going back in forth just to take pictures 😦
Here are the candidates on their production number.. (I’m so sorry if i missed some delegates.. since they are too fast and the introduction was almost done simultaneously)
all together now…
Tired..? Boys still all smile after the production number..

I asked these two to pose like Mr. Pogi while they are on stage .. and they did without hesitation..! haha
Top 10 were selected after the formal wear competition and they advanced on the next semifinal round. And here they are..
This is the view of the stage from the rear, I can see their reactions when someone is being called to move in the next round. It was heartbreaking and exciting..
And now they are down to three C’s! Cassandra, Chelsea and Christia..
After the selection of top three finishers in each division, i went backstage to check what’s the atmosphere. I wanna know how’s the candidates accepted the results..
This was one of the most touching moments i saw.. Yves tried to console Anne. It took only seconds for Anne to recover and smile for our camera.. and look at her at the bottom..
They are now all smile!
I know there were candidates that are not happy with their fate, but the fact that they know that this is a competition, most of them were happy and contented, as the saying goes ” “A crown makes a great memory but a Friend makes a great Future!” It is still the friendships and companionship that matters most. Here are some images that I got right after the elimination.. They can still smile and trying to enjoy the last minute that they are together..
Male semifinalists.. eliminated but still you can see the BIG smile on their face! Competition is not all about winning, its also about learning and preparation for a bigger battle..
Sheena and Alyssa
Another top three! Kenneth, Patricia and Xander
The Bulilit band.. hehe.. Happy rin backstage.
Nakita ko rin backstage.. Carlo and ( Mr Moico?)
I saw Josh backstage, kinunan ko xa with matching sashes, Andameng awards ha. Akala ko talaga, pasok sya sa top 3, but he is too young.. way to go Joshua!
Past and present with Jim acosta and Mylene Misolas of Carousel
AND HERE ARE THE TOP 3’s OF THIS YEAR’S OLIVE C!
Yves Campos, 5’8′ 19 years old, taking up BS Nursing at Velez College in Cebu City. He is very charming and warm. He was the most awarded candidate last night but ended up as 2nd runner up, For me he is an endorser material, he has the looks, charisma and cute smile! I have no problem seeing him winning the title.
Nathaniel Tiu is 17 year old student from Cebu Institute of Technology taking up BS Mining Engineering. He was the tallest among the male candidates at 6’0″. He has a killer smile and charisma that made him stand out that night. His 1st runner placement is commendable.
Deserving! From the very start he impressed the audience and even Jeanne Harn on his response on the question about his mission. The delivery of his answer about being environmentalist was excellent. As the saying goes ‘ First impression lasts”, his being good speaker really made a commendable impression that made him the male grand winner . He is taking up BS Accountancy in Holy Cross of Davao College Inc. He is 19 years old and stands 5’9.
I like her personality. She has a Karla Henry vibes. Her Festival Costume was excellent and she carried it well, no wonder she got the Festival Costume Award. She stands 5’8 and currently enrolled at University of San Carlos in Cebu. Her 2nd runner up finish is well accepted.
Christia Gail Ocampo stands 5’5 and taking up Media Production at Assumption College. Katabi ko ang lola nya during the start of the competition and she was really proud of her. She has a refreshing personality that helps her to become the 2nd most beautiful lady that night.
Some says, she looks like Anne Curtis, or even Bb. Pilipinas Int’l Nadia Shami. But for her suppporters, she is the one and only Chelsea Samantha Starling who bested almost two dozens of equally beautiful ladies that night. She is one of the youngest candidates at the age of 15, at present, she is a junior student at Child Jesus of Prague.
FAREWELL ROHAMA AND ALJHON…
Rohama Rearte says.. bye for now..
Time has come.. Aljhon bids goodbye…

These teens will not only get the Mr. and Ms. Olive C titles, above all they will also assume the responsibility of a role model for everyone! Hoping for an amazing year to you all!
ONE LAST SHOT! The show is over, new winners were crowned but old friendship remains.. Batch 2012 still together after 2 years! And that’s a reason to smile! L-R RALPH, GIO, ALJHON, DAVID, KRISTINE, JHAY, JOMAR AND ROHAMA with ehem… 😉 Hope this year’s batch will celebrate friendship that will last longer than the reign of a queen.
Friendships can last a lifetime…a pageant title only lasts 1 year and is quickly forgotten by the time the next pageant comes around….
