Glennifer Perido, Tabuk , Kalinga Province Bet for Miss Philippines Earth 2012

Glennifer Duggay Perido, a twenty two year old Registered Nurse, Freelance  Commercial Model and a native of Tabuk City, Kalinga, is the province’ official  representative to the 2012 Miss Philippines Earth Pageant.

 She recently graced the Araw ng Kalinga Celebration and was warmly greeted by her fellow Tabukeña led by 

Provincial Gov. Jocel Baac, Mayor Ferdinand Tubban and Vice Mayor Darwin Estrañero of Tabuk City 

and Arlene Ethel Odiem, City Tourism Officer.

Glen as she is fondly called practically grew up in Pinukpuk, at  the outskirts of Tabuk City and spent her childhood days amidst the lush Mountains of Cordillera and pristine waters of the Mighty Chico River. She speaks fluent Kalinga,  Ilocano and Itawes dialect.

Growing up in the province made her more appreciative on the beauty and bounty of  nature that God had bestowed on Kalinga, that is why she fully advocates the utilization  of renewable energy or green energy which is the energy of the future. It is cost  efficient and environment-friendly. It doesn’t contribute much to greenhouse gas  emissions, which is the main cause of climate change.

She is extremely proud to be a Tabukeña, which are known for being industrious, persevering, caring and God-fearing. Her most memorable childhood experience  is during summer breaks, where she would  go with her aunt to sell food and  clothes at the barrios in exchange for bananas and coconuts which they  eventually  sell to save up for her tuition fees.

 


Those experiences are some of the things that moulded her to be disciplined,  determined and persevering and value the true meaning of hard work and resiliency.  This is evident in her numerous achievements, having won and participated in various  pageant here and abroad.

Joining this year’s Miss Philippines Earth Search is a perfect opportunity for her to promote the rich cultural heritage and the vast economic and tourism potential of Tabuk and Kalinga  Given the chance to win the crown, Glennifer will do her humble share in educating people and lead actions towards the Conservation, Preservation and Restoration of the Beauty and Bounty of our Environment.
